PRO-ACT SCIPrUK®

It is the intent of PROACT-SCIPr-UK® to minimise the use of physical interventions and to emphasise sound behavioural support strategies based upon an individual’s needs, characteristics and preferences.

Under the PROACT-SCIPr-UK® mission statement, we at Insight employ the PCP model and undertake in the belief that everything should be tailor made to meet individual’s needs and this is adopted within the PROACT-SCIPr-UK® framework.

We always aim to emphasise sound behavioural support strategies based upon an individual’s needs whilst adopting a proactive approach to the individuals we support. As a service we are successfully succeeding in what we are aiming to do in order to help people strive to what they would like to do in life, whilst implementing the PCAS (person centred active support) framework of:

This in turn is fundamentally underpinned by the PROACT-SCIPr-UK® philosophy and it is our belief at Insight, that this is the approach that should be adopted to help people succeed in life to the best of their abilities.

It is the intent of PROACT-SCIPr-UK® to minimise the use of physical interventions also and we at Insight also believe that this is how people’s lives should be. If a positive approach is implemented for people then staff are able to proactively interact with individuals and the need for challenging behaviour to be displayed is less, therefore leading to a reduction in physical intervention.

Positive interaction and pro-active approaches are therefore the most effective way to help people succeed in life and this is underpinned by PROACT-SCIPr-UK® philosophy.

We have 3 fully trained PROACT-SCIPr-UK® trainers who attend yearly refreshers to ensure that they keep up with all relevant changes.

All staff will receive PROACT-SCIPr-UK® training within their first 3 months and will attend a yearly refresher.
